The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a follow-up to the hit Disney show The Proud Family. We follow the quirky and loveable Prouds; daughter Penny (Kyla Pratt), father Oscar (Tommy Davidson); mother Trudy (Paula Jai Parker); grandmother Suga Mama (JoMarie Payton); and Uncle Bobby (Cedric the Entertainer); as they try and make their way through life, whether it’s running a small business, teenage drama, or building an amusement park on top of a nuclear waste dump! Joining the Prouds are Penny’s friends Dijonay Jones (Karen Malina), Zoey Howzer (Soleil Moon Frye), LaCienega Boulevardez (Alisa Reyes), Felix Boulevardez (Carlos Mencia), Sunset Boulevardez (Maria Canals-Barrera), Papi (Alvaro Gutierrez), Nubia Gross (Raquel Lee Bolleau), and Myron (Marcus T. Paulk). The new reoccurring cast members will also be returning, such as Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins (Keke Palmer), Francis “KG” Leibowitz-Jenkins (Artist “A Boogie” Dubose), Randall and Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins (Billy Porter and Zachary Quinto), Michael Collins (EJ Johnson), Kareem (Asante Blacck). Penny’s little siblings Bebe and CeCe will be played by Aiden Dodson and Bresha Webb as they did in season one, replacing Tara Strong, who played them in The Proud Family.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder was well received by critics and audiences alike upon its initial premiere this past February. Praised for its inclusivity and positive representation, the series currently holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Many positive reviews focused on how well the series adapted to the themes of the 2020s while still retaining the same charm and wit of its predecessor.
The fans seem to agree with the above, as Louder and Prouder has continued in the spirit of the original show by tackling themes that the previous show wasn’t afraid of either. Such themes covered in season one included peer pressure, prejudice, grudges, and family appreciation. Louder and Prouder also tackled homophobia with the introduction of the two-dad Leibowitz-Jenkins family.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is available to watch on Disney+, along with the entire library of The Proud Family. Both shows are executive-produced and created by Bruce W. Smith, with Ralph Farquhar serving alongside as co-creator and executive-producer of Louder and Prouder. Calvin Brown Jr. also returns as executive producer, but also is credited as story editor. Jan Hirota (Big Hero 6: The Series) is serving as producer. Eastwood Wong (Carmen Sandiego) is credited as art director, with directors Latoya Raveneau, Rudi Bloss, and Tara Nicole Witaker.
