The hype for Deadpool 3 is at an all-time high. The combination of Ryan Reynolds as the titular character alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is too good a premise for any superhero fan to pass up. The story of Reynolds as Deadpool began with Jackman, as the actors paired up for the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the movie, audiences got their first look at Reynolds as Wade Wilson before he would ultimately star in two highly successful solo films of his own.
As it turns out, Reynolds has been pushing for a reunion between the characters for a few years, despite the barriers presented before the Disney-Fox merger. During an interview with Variety, the actor spoke on the long road to creating Deadpool 3 and his initial meeting with Kevin Feige in 2019.

“I got Kevin to talk what, if anything, the future holds for Deadpool in that transaction,” he explains regarding the massive merger. “The subject was coming up in the meeting about if we could find a way to do a Deadpool-Wolverine pairing. It wasn’t possible then. For this to be happening now is pretty damn exciting.”
Deadpool 3 should be a fantastic addition to the franchise and will serve as the first R-rated movie within the MCU, according to Feige. Still, fans are left to wonder whether the content will be toned down for the third installment or if it will continue the raunchy humor the character is known for. Audiences will have all of their questions answered when Deadpool 3 breaks into theaters on November 8, 2024.
Ryan Reynolds Calls Deadpool 3 A ‘Dream Come True’
Ryan Reynolds clearly loves his time with the Deadpool character, and he couldn’t be more excited to share the screen with Jackman. During the Variety interview, the actor spoke about his relationship with his co-star and why filming Deadpool 3 is a “dream come true.”
“Oh my God, I’m thrilled. It’s like old home week. To get to be on set with one of my closest friends each and everyday is a dream come true. But to do it with these two iconic characters side by side, that’s beyond our wildest dreams.”
Plot details surrounding the upcoming film are scarce right now. However, fans believe Deadpool 3 may be a road trip movie shared between the titular character and Wolverine. The idea sounds fantastic based on the premise alone, as the personalities of each character would lend to a great time at the theater. Unfortunately, the wait for the film is more than two years, and fans will eagerly anticipate any concrete news surrounding the movie. Deadpool 3 will undoubtedly be a box office hit, as the first two installments grossed over $700 million each. Adding Hugh Jackman to the mix will only increase those numbers substantially.
