Kristen Bell has played many roles in her career, but as the voice of Anna in Disney’s Frozen franchise, you would think that this would make her cool to her children. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth, as the actress revealed that her girls are not impressed by her Disney princess status.
While speaking to the Radio Times, Bell was asked how her children felt about her being the star of Frozen, and the actress explained how they don’t even let her sing at home. She said:
“They know I was in it and make it their mission not to care. You’re meant to think everything your mum and dad do is nerdy and gross. They do not let me sing to them – ever. The second I start humming, they tell me to stop.”
While Bell’s children won’t be bothered one way or the other, many fans of the Frozen franchise are eager to know whether there will be a third movie coming down the line anytime soon. While there has been no official announcement from Disney, Bell unofficially announced Frozen 3 will happen, although she added the caveat that she has no authority on the matter. She said:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
“I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, Frozen 3. I know Idina recently said she would do it. And I feel like if we’re all in, what are we waiting for?”
Of course, it took six years for Frozen II to come to fruition after the original movie became a box-office smash. With the sequel having only been released in 2019, it could be some time before we see Anna and Elsa hit cinemas again.
Kristen Bell Currently Stars in The People We Hate At The Wedding
Having spent several years lending her voice to a host of animated projects, she appeared in the parody murder mystery The Woman in the House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window for Netflix, and the comedy movie Queenpins in 2021. Her latest project takes her to Prime Video, where she stars in The People We Hate At The Wedding, which is described by the streamer as:
“The film follows struggling American siblings Alice (Kristen Bell) and Paul (Ben Platt), who reluctantly agree to attend the wedding of their estranged, wealthy half-sister (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) in the English countryside alongside their mother, Donna (Allison Janney). Over the course of the wedding week, the family’s many skeletons are wrenched from the closet, and the unlikely reunion gives everyone the motivation to move their own lives forward. A modern wedding comedy for anyone with a slightly dysfunctional family (everyone), or anyone who’s been forced to attend a wedding they tried to avoid (also everyone).”
It seems that Kristen Bell is quite happy putting herself on screen at the moment, but there is no doubt that if she gets a call to provide the voice for Anna in Frozen 3, the actress will be there like a shot. Just don’t expect her children to be overly enthusiastic about it.
