Actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with assaults on three men across eight years while running The Old Vic Theatre London. The 62-year-old star has been facing claims of sexual assaults over the last several years from several claimants, which have seen him dropped from some movies and associated work. New reports by the Daily Mail revealed that the actor will now face prosecution on four different counts of assault for incidents that occurred between 2005 and 2013.
Kevin Spacey found himself fired from his role in the U.S. drama series House of Cards, and subsequently lost a role in the drama All The Money in The World, following several claims made against him concerning inappropriate behavior, and sexual assault. While Spacey denied the charges against him, and some of the cases were subsequently dropped, these latest charges will now be pursued by the U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service. CPS Special Crime Division head Rosemary Ainslie said:

“The CPS has authorized criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men. He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation. The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.”
The details released about the charges Spacey faces consist of the following: a man that claims he was assaulted twice by the actor in 2005, a second man who claims to have been sexually assaulted and forced to engage in an act against his will in 2008, and a third man who alleges an assault took place in 2013.
Kevin Spacey Has Been Recently Attached to a Number of New Movies
Having spent several years on the Hollywood blacklist following the long list of complaints against him, Kevin Spacey has recently been set to star in a small number of movies. These have included a role in the upcoming historical drama 1242 – Gateway to the West, in which he is currently set to star alongside Christopher Lambert and Terence Stamp, amongst others. What will happen with this role is currently unclear.
Another movie that has recently been announced as heading to the Cannes market for consideration is Peter Five Eight, a movie in which Spacey stars as “a charismatic man in a black sedan who shows up in a small mountainside community.” The film also stars Jet Jandreau and Rebecca De Mornay. Director Michael Zaiko recently said of Spacey, “Kevin was a joy to work with, kept everyone laughing between takes and delivered what I think will be a surprising treat for his fans.”
Having just recently returned to acting, it is yet to be seen how these newly raised charges will impact the movies already made by Spacey, or the upcoming roles he was set to play in the moving months.
