Jordan Peele’s Nope to Receive Outdoor Screening for Alamo Drafthouse 25th Anniversary

One of the year’s most anticipated horror movies is getting a special screening this summer.

Collider reports that Jordan Peele’s sci-fi horror Nope, starring returning Peele collaborator Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, will receive an exclusive outdoor screening as part of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema 25th Anniversary Rolling Roadshow celebration.

“Signature events like these are always energizing for the whole team. Creating memorable experiences while celebrating films from exciting artists like Jordan Peele is what we’re all about,” said Shelli Taylor, CEO of Alamo Drafthouse. “It’s what has enabled us to thrive and expand for 25 years.”

And a memorable experience it will be: admission to the event includes a tour with a cowboy rancher, a horseback tour to the Hollywood Sign, a “BBQ buffet” featuring food and drinks inspired by the film, and free commemorative gifts. Attendees can also expect to see exclusive content ahead of the screening.

The film, which follows residents of a small town after witnessing a supernatural event, also stars Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, Barbie Ferreira, Terry Notary, Donna Mills, Jennifer Lafluer, Sophia Coto, and Keith David. Per Collider, Peele also serves as a producer on the film alongside Ian Cooper for Monkeypaw Productions.

Nope hits theaters worldwide on July 22.

Nope Screening Will Give Guests an Immersive Experience

The first trailer for Nope introduces stars Kaluuya and Palmer as OJ and Emerald Haywood, a brother and sister duo whose Haywood Ranch is home to the “only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood.”

It seems only natural, then, to hold the screening at Sunset Ranch Hollywood. The Los Angeles ranch, which offers horseback riding tours and country getaways, is as close as one can get to Haywood Ranch (without potentially falling victim to the supernatural horrors above).

The screening itself will take place inside a horse corral, surrounded by over 70 horses in stables; the film will begin at 8 PM, just in time for the dark to creep in as things get spookier.

In addition to the anniversary event, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas will be rolling out a limited-time menu inspired by Nope. The Southwest selections include items such as Sheriff’s Office Pork Belly Pizza and Haywood Ranch Cowboy Dip. Two creepy cocktails are also joining the themed menu: Skyy Dancer Lemonade and Blood Rain Skyy Punch. The new items will be available at all Alamo Drafthouse locations beginning July 14.

Tickets for the Alamo Drafthouse 25th Anniversary Rolling Roadshow Nope experience start at $150. Find more information on the July 25 event and purchase tickets here.
