Bruce Campbell Shares Sneak Peek Images of Hallmark Film My Southern Family Christmas

New images have been released for My Southern Family Christmas, a new holiday comedy featuring Evil Dead star and B-movie legend Bruce Campbell. Having since retired from playing his bloody Ash Williams character in any new live-action films, Campbell has been taking on some more lighthearted roles at this stage of the horror icon’s career. Taking to Twitter, he posted some photos that provide a sneak peek at his next movie ahead of its premiere on Hallmark Channel on Nov. 24.

“It’s time for a Cajun Christmas!” Campbell says in his tweet, which you can see below.

The film is a part of Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” slate of programming for the year. Along with Campbell, it also tars Jaicy Elliot, Ryan Rottman, Moira Kelly, and Brian McNamara. Daniel Lewis of Evergreen Films is producing. For more about the movie, you can read the official synopsis below.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Under the guise of a journalist, Campbell has a chance to get to know her biological father for the first time — without him ever knowing who she really is. As she spends time with him and his family, as well as with the town’s record keeper, she realizes that families are messy, wonderful things. In the end, Campbell must decide if she’s going to keep her identity a secret or reveal the truth to her father — a decision that will change their family Christmas forever.”

Bruce Campbell Is Taking a Liking to Hallmark Christmas Movies

Hallmark Channel

It’s getting to be an annual occurrence for Campbell to pop up on Hallmark to celebrate the holidays. Last year, he also co-starred with Peter Gallagher in a Hallmark Channel movie called One December Night. That film followed Campbell and Gallagher as a pair of brothers and aging rockers who decide to reunite after having a fallout out 10 years prior. Maybe we’ll see Campbell ringing in the holiday season again in 2023, as the groovy one certainly seems to be enjoying his time making Christmas films.

But horror remains a part of Campbell’s blood. In fact, last year, he was able to combine his new appreciation for the holiday season with the horror genre as one of the stars of the movie Black Friday!. That film was set in a store that comes under attack from zombies during a Black Friday sale. Earlier this year, Campbell also appeared in the Marvel movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and has had roles in recent TV shows like A.P. Bio, Archer, and The Last Kids on Earth.

My Southern Family Christmas premieres on Hallmark Channel on Thursday, Nov. 24, at 8/7c.
